Netgear's firmware-info webpage for Orbi always lags a day or two or three behind when an update is made available via the router's own firmware-update check feature (auto-discover) - that's not unusual at all. I'm not saying that makes any sense, but it is what it is - just seems to be how they roll.
Inside the router admin screen, the system indicated that the latest firmware version of the router is v 184.108.40.206. As the utility would not automatically detect the information for the satellite, i went manually to the netgear website and searched for the firmware files.
I just bought the R4500 from Costco, it has the 220.127.116.11_1.0.3 firmware. I went to the Netgear download page and it seems that there are newer versions of firmware(18.104.22.168, v22.214.171.124, etc.) The firmware update does not find a newer version. Should I use the newer versions?
ISP unable to update firmware from V2.05.18 to V3.01.16, which is the latest Cox-approved firmware update for this model. Neatgear knowledgebase says my ISP is the only one that can update my modem. Cox (my ISP) does not have this update on file and sends me to Netgear support. Support is unable to help because my product is out of warranty.
