So I have the Edgerouter X (ER-X) and when checking for new updates, I see that both v2.0.8 and v1.10.11 were released this month. My brain says I should go with the highest version number for the most current, but v1.10.11 was released after v2.0.8...
I am confused as to why there are two available lines of firmware available simultaneously, with no explanation as to their difference. I installed v2.0.8-hotfix.1 because it is a higher number and I like being on the bleeding edge (pun maybe intended). But for all I know, there might be barely any difference. I did not notice any changes when I changed from the v1.x.x firmware.
1.10.11 is the last of the 'old' firmware. This line will not be developed further. 2.0.8hf1 is the current version of the new firmware. Further updates to this 2.x line will be released (in fact I'd expect 2.0.9 quite soon). I'd go with 2.x.
